If you’ve been with us since our launched Peptideware last year, you might have noticed, our checkout process has changed a several times. In fact, if you visit the site today, the payment portal looks different than it did 3 weeks ago.

We know this can be confusing, and we want to explain exactly why this is happening.

For any peptide business, processing credit cards is one of the single biggest operational hurdles. While the science behind our products is clear, the financial regulations surrounding them are incredibly complex. This creates a volatile environment where stable payment processing is difficult to secure.

The Certification Hurdle: LegitScript

To process payments stably or advertise on major platforms, businesses in our industry are increasingly required to obtain certification from a third-party compliance organization called LegitScript.

This certification acts as a gatekeeper. It is a rigorous, expensive, and lengthy process designed to vet healthcare and research merchants. We are currently navigating this process, but the reality is that approval is never guaranteed. There is a significant gray area for business like ours, and while we work to meet their standards, we are often shut out of traditional banking channels.

The Impact on Your Experience

Because we are still navigating these certification requirements, we don’t have access to the “set it and forget it” payment processors that standard retailers use.

Instead, we are forced to work with specialized high-risk merchant banks. These banks are under immense pressure from card networks (like Visa and Mastercard) to limit their exposure to our industry. A processor might work perfectly for us on Monday, but by Wednesday, their compliance department might change a policy that forces us to shut down that gateway and integrate a new one immediately.

This is why the checkout experience has varied so much recently.

Minimizing Client Exposure

Our priority is to ensure that when you do order, the transaction is secure. Despite the frequent switches, we vet every processor for security standards to ensure client data is protected. We are willing to undergo the headache of switching systems multiple times a month if it means we can continue to offer a secure way for you to access our catalog.

We appreciate your patience as we navigate these regulatory hurdles. We are working hard to find a permanent solution, This is why we have chosen to use LinkMoney as our preferred payment processor.

If you experience issues with your bank – Please email use directly at, [email protected] – we can process your order manually to make sure you receive your research compounds.
